How Asparagus Gets its Start

It's true...if you've never seen asparagus crowns you will be pretty surpised by their appearance.  To me, they look like a bazaar sea creature. 

Asparagus is planted in a furrow with their "arms" nicely laid out legnth wise.

Both green and purple varieties were planted but we have to wait until next year for our first harvest!
